Kokekokko published by Éditions Issekinicho, 2014

My second series of paintings published this time in this collective book of 16 French illustrators who have been to and who share their version of Japan.

Much like my first book I decided to create a series of paintings in the Nihonga style. There are two stories this time, the first is around a ‘Nagashi-somen’ party we had on campus,  where we dressed in yukata, enjoyed somen and then finished by playing with fireworks. The second, I take you on a journey into the mountains in Nagano, all the way to ‘Jigoku-dani’ park which is home to Japanese macaques who famously bathe in hot springs!

This book has been republished and is available on the publisher’s website here.
